Organization of the Event Lagani Tiski Spust and Popaj Festival 2023 – Tradition on the Water

In the municipality of Novi Kneževac, on August 20th, 2023, the event “Lagani Tiski Spust and Popaj Festival” was held, organized by the Resource Center of the Fruška Gora-Danube Region, the Municipality of Novi Kneževac, and the Novi Kneževac Tourism Organization. This traditional event attracted a large number of river and recreation enthusiasts. Participants of all ages gently floated down the Tisza River, enjoying the natural beauty and the camaraderie on the water. The program included numerous activities on the riverbank, with the highlights being the Popaj Festival, rowing and swimming competitions, and workshops for both children and adults.

The Popaj Festival, as part of this event, offered a rich entertainment program, featuring concerts, theatrical performances, and creative workshops for the youngest attendees. Participants had the chance to compete in traditional boat rowing and savor local delicacies. The event was organized in collaboration with local communities and was attended by over 2,000 people from various parts of Serbia.
