Organization of the Gourmet Connect Conference – Gastronomic Tourism of Vojvodina
The “Gourmet Connect: Gastronomic Tourism of Vojvodina” conference was held in Vrdnik on October 3rd, 2024, organized by the Resource Center of the Fruška Gora-Danube Region. The event brought together over 100 participants, including representatives from the public, civil, and private sectors, such as local food producers, tourism workers, restaurateurs, and experts in the field of tourism. The goal of the conference was to enhance cooperation between the tourism and gastronomy sectors, with a focus on promoting authentic Vojvodinian products and integrating them into the region’s tourist offerings.
Throughout the day, panel discussions and workshops allowed participants to exchange experiences and ideas on developing the gastronomic offering as a key factor in attracting tourists. Particular attention was given to the importance of connecting gastronomic experiences with cultural and natural attractions, which could contribute to increasing the number of visitors and strengthening the local economy. Successful examples from other European regions were presented at the conference, serving as inspiration for further development of Vojvodina’s gastronomic tourism.
The event was supported by the Provincial Government and the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina, which highlighted the importance of this type of tourism in promoting the region and its uniqueness. It was concluded that stronger cooperation between local food producers, tourism organizations, and the hospitality sector is essential to create a unique tourist offering that attracts both domestic and international guests.
